DIY Beautiful Nails

Here's a pampering and affordable holiday home manicure that will help you feel extra special for your holiday party.

Apply one coat of a shimmery white nail polish and let dry completely. Next, fill a small glass with cool water and add two drops of the white polish and two drops of  a metallic ruby red nail polish. Quickly stir the colors together so they appear marbleized.

After swirling, the lacquer will create a thin film on top of the water. Gently dip your fingertip in the water so the film coats the nail. Repeat with each nail, refreshing the swirl as needed. Then clean the excess polish off cuticles with a cotton swab soaked in nail polish remover.

Beautiful Voice

I was busy shopping for a week's supply when I heard someone sing. The song was on of my favorite Celine Dion songs and the voice of the singer was very nice. As I push my cart towards the electronics section of the grocery store, I saw a lot of people gathered around the singer. It was one of their staff doing a demo of their new beyerdynamic mm1 microphone. She has a lovely voice no wonder a lot of shoppers stopped and watched her. I, for one was curious to find out where that beautiful voice was coming from. The girl is very talented, she could be a professional singer.

A New Mic

Hubs and I debated on whether to buy audix d6 at musicians friend for our son or buy a new cellphone for his Christmas gift. He needs to upgrade his drum's mic and I know he's been longing to have the Audix. Hubs, on the other hand thinks he'd be happy with a new cellphone because the one he's using is about to retire. In the end, he gave in. I told him the mic is more important because he uses it in school and during practices. As for the cellphone, it can wait until the old one is finally dead. He's not complaining anyway. For as long as he can call and send text messages, that's enough for him.

Gorgeous Winter Jackets

Tired of the ubiquitous grey and black jackets you always wear during winter? Go for a green color; it's a great alternative to keep you warm and make you look stylish at the same time.

A fitted cream or brown jacket can keep you warm and stylish even when you're wearing jeans and boots.

Warm up with a salmon double breasted jacket to make those grey winter days lively.

A military-style jacket will see you through every occasion - from having tea with a colleague, to a brunch with friends at the weekend.

A leopard print jacket instantly adds glamor to your outfit. Just be sure to keep the rest of your outfit simple and sophisticated so you won't overdo it.

A duffle coat is ideal for those women who are always on the move.

Pair this gorgeous collarless jacket with a fitted pencil skirt and classic court heels.

The double-breasted pea coat never goes out of style. This style is staple in all our wardrobes.

Protect Pets with a Wireless Fence

If you have ever found yourself running or driving around your neighborhood, looking for your dog, wireless pet fences could be for you. We lost our precious Daphne (a pomeranian) when she went out of the house unnoticed. It was already too late when we found out that she was missing. Daphne was never found. Hubs and I regretted not having those wireless fences. If you care enough for your pets, I would recommend this wireless system to protect them and help them learn their boundaries.

Easily Transform a Room Through Lighting

Redecorating or changing your wall coverings and furniture can transform a room, but did you know that an inexpensive way to do so is through lighting? The right lighting can enhance the color and mood of any room. I usually go for italian lighting because they do not only add beauty to a room but they help me save energy too. You may have other preferences and that's totally up to you. Some things to consider though when transforming a room through lighting, make sure you consider visibility, the activities you will do in that room, the health & safety of the people staying in the room, mood and comfort.

Make a Few Bucks Out of Your Unwanted Stuff

The holidays are right around the corner and the year is about to end, too. I'm sure you are getting ready to declutter. Either you want to get rid of all your unwanted stuff to have more space in your home or make space for the new ones. For whatever reason you are decluttering to eliminate unwanted stuff, did you know that instead of throwing all of those things, you could actually make a few bucks off of them?

Here, let me tell you how you could make easy money selling stuff right in the comfort of your own home.

Clothes and Furniture

You can easily sell them to websites that accept consignment items or through Ebay. You can even offer them on Craigslist or do a garage sale.

Sports Equipment

Look for a used sports shop or post sales on ebay or Craiglist.

Electronics

Electronic items usually sell fast. Offer them on the sites mentioned above or place an ad on your local newspaper. Broken electronic gadgets or even the obsolete ones can be sold through ebay.

Old Games, CDs and DVDs

New or old releases can be sold on music Magpie US. Simply download the barcode scanner app to check how much your items cost. Send them the items and just wait for your check to arrive. Shipping is free so you don't have to worry about the shipping cost to send them the items.

Housewares

Items that are still in good condition can be easily sold on Ebay, on consignment, or through Craigslist. You can also sell them on a yard sale.

The Perfect Tops for Jeans

You love to wear jeans, but sometimes the wrong choice of tops makes you look "big" and sloppy. Here are some of the must-have tops to make you look gorgeous in jeans.

Tops with straight sleeves

They create a vertical frame that keeps the bust looking perky, which also slims the upper body. Avoid wearing tops with baggy "bat" sleeves. They cause the eyes to rove horizontally, which visually widens the bustline so it appears indistinct and saggy.

Button-down tops

A tailored button-down works best because it creates a leaner fit that causes the eye to scan vertically, streamlining the midsection. Plus, the buttons form an elongating line down the torso that enhances the slimming effect. Avoid shapeless poncho-like blouses. They over power curves and add bulk from shoulders to hips, while a hem that droops awkwardly on the sides draws the focus down to the widest part of the body.

Hip length tops

A hip-length top lays flat over the the belly to make a middle look little while a thigh-skimming top tends to bunch up below the tummy creating light reflecting wrinkles that accentuate any bulges.

A New Monitor

The galaxy hotspot at musicians friend my brother bought for my nephew made him one happy drummer. I heard him complain a lot about his old monitor and he kept bugging his dad to buy him a new one. They did a lot of research before they bought the galaxy hotspot. It turned out to be a good decision because the monitor has solved the feedback issue that annoyed my sister in law.
